Welcome to Dynamite Softball Club, a mixed sex softball club which plays in Leeds, West Yorkshire in the UK. We are made up of four teams - Dynamite, FireCrackers and Detonators (Adult Co-ed) and Rockets (Youth) and we play in the Leeds Softball Association.
Where and when we play Softball:
We play at our home field in Roundhay Park, and various venues within the LSA - look out for shirts as pictured on the left.
The Teams:
Dynamite is our original team which plays both in the Leeds league and at national tournaments, taking intermediate players and giving them experience of high quality softball.
FireCrackers fields a mix of experienced intermediates and rookies, playing for fun whilst aiming to win more than they lose in the more recreational end of the Leeds league.
Detonators caters for our growing roster of adult players.
Rockets is open to players from 14-19. We hold various try-out and training sessions at a number of locations in Leeds throughout the year - see here for details. We believe in developing Softball skills in younger players, aiming to bring youngsters we have trained into our adult teams in the future, further strengthening DFR Softball.
Oh and just in case you were wondering what Softball is...
The leading mixed sex recreational summer game, Softball is based on Baseball but the ball is pitched underarm, making more it about hitting and running. It is a fun and banter-filled sport well suited to long summer evenings, attracting men, women (and in our case, teenage boys and girls) who want to play a game which has an equal mixture of fun, excitement and entertaainment.
